Versus cmt
Versus CMT is an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that I founded in July 2026 to directly support my mission to help find a cure for CMT1A.
Through Versus CMT, I’m able to raise tax-deductible donations and provide grant funding directly to researchers. As I learn more, speak with researchers, and better understand what stands between where we are today and a cure, funding will be directed toward the work my team and I believe can help close those gaps.
Transparency is incredibly important to me. I want anyone who donates to be able to see how much Versus CMT receives, where that money goes, what research it supports, and why we chose to support it.
Meet the Team
Nate Parrish
Founder
I’m a medically retired U.S. Army officer and non-commissioned officer, former biology researcher, and father on a mission. Following my son’s diagnosis with CMT1A, I enrolled in college and eventually took a leap of faith, leaving behind a stable military career of 12 years to fight the disease head-on. I’m currently building ‘Nate Versus CMT’ as a platform dedicated to accelerating research, translating science into real conversations, and bringing together patients, families, researchers, and clinicians around a shared goal: ending CMT.
I’m a longtime martial artist, self-proclaimed philosopher, and father of two who believes deeply in resilience, curiosity, and refusing to accept “good enough” when it comes to the future of people living with anything but the best.
Patrick Parrish
Treasurer
Pat is a career electrical engineer, entrepreneur, husband, and father who joined Versus CMT to help support its long-term mission and growth. With nearly 20 years of experience in project management and leadership, he brings valuable perspective, professionalism, and organizational experience to the foundation.
As my older brother, he remains a steady source of support throughout the development of Versus CMT and shares a deep belief in building a better future for families affected by inherited disease. Outside of work, he remains committed to his family and enjoys staying involved in sports, major life events, personal growth, and helping shape a strong future for the people he cares about most.
Moses Ataben

For Versus CMT, he brings scientific expertise and a global perspective while developing new CMT1A and HNPP disease models to better understand disease mechanisms and support future therapies.
